Original very early and scarce lithograph with hand coloured pochoir.
From the Madrigaux suite.
Printed in an edition of 1110.

In June 1920 the publisher La Sirne of Paris issued a suite of prints by Raoul Dufy to accompany verses by the great symbolist poet Stphane Mallarm. The suite was entitled Madrigaux and comprised 25 lithographs coloured by the pochoir process, the latter involving the application of watercolour or gouache pigments to the prints through the medium of stencils.
Madrigaux is widely considered to be amongst the finest livre d\’artiste of the 20th century.
